Lincoln mother talks about daughter killed in accident

Like many mothers, Lori Parker has chronicled her daughter’s life with pictures.

“She loved Lincoln County High School, she loved to model, she was involved in Image Modeling, she was a cheerleader, she loved to dance and sing,” said Parker, after laying out numerous pictures of her daughter on a picnic table outside their Stanford home, the day after the17 year was killed in an accident on Ky. Hwy. 78.

“It was just an accident, they just hydroplaned, they had their seatbelts on,” Parker says of her daughter, Lenora, and her boyfriend, 18 year old Stevie Bolden, who is now listed in fair condition at UK Hospital.

Police say that Bolden was driving a car that lost control and collided with another car driven by 38 year old Shelly Sears who later died at UK Hospital. Parker says Bolden and Lenora had been dating for several months.

From all indictations, police believe the collision was just an accident, but Lenora’s mother says it should send a message to all young people, of the importance of being careful.

“I think just buckling a seatbelt is not enough, slow down when that rain starts pouring down, got to slow down,” Parker said.

Shelly Sears’ family members say she was a wonderful mother, she loved to ride 4 wheelers, and she worked at American Greetings in Danville. She leaves behind a 4 year old son.
