Graffiti could be gang related

The members of Faith Baptist Church is Georgetown were disheartened to discover graffiti covering their storage building. It was a surprise to the church members but police say they've seen similar vandalism before. It's usually the mark of gang activity.

"You had one group marked an area, probably for their territory, their neighborhood, then another group has come over and marked over it to show disrespect to that group," said Sargent Jeff Greenfield of the Georgetown Police Department.

This is the third time in recent months that graffiti such as this has appeared in Georgetown. Despite the increase in gang markings, there hasn't been an increase in gang related crime.

Georgetown police say from here they"ll remain vigilant as they try to stop the spread of more gang activity in Georgetown.
