Vote Expected Tonight On Expanded Sunday Alcohol Sales

Updated: Thu 8:40 AM, Sep 13, 2007

Lexington city leaders are expected to vote on expanding Sunday alcohol sales Thursday night. That vote may be met with plenty of opposition.

During a meeting Tuesday at city hall, hundreds of people showed up, many of them church groups, against expanded sales.

Supporters say expanding alcohol sales could make Lexington more attractive to tourists and businesses.

If the measure passes, sales will be allowed in package stores and expanded in bars.
