Lexington Christmas Toy Program Cancelled

After 75 years of providing toys to children who otherwise might wake up on Christmas Day with no packages under the tree, the Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters is hanging up the Santa suit.

The organization cites lack of funds and volunteer resources as reasons driving the difficult decision to call it quits.

They plan to aide other Lexington organizations, such as the Marines and the Salvation Army, in their efforts to provide children with toys on Christmas morning.
