Body Found Inside Charred Garage Apartment

A fire in Woodford County left one person dead and now investigators are trying to figure out how it started.

The fire gutted a garage apartment on Shore Acres Road in the Millville community of Woodford County sometime in the overnight hours on Monday.

Police say someone driving by, noticed the damage about 8:00 on Monday morning and called 911.

Family members tell us Alonzo Samuels was the only person who lived in the apartment. The body has not been positively identified yet, but family members are sure it is Samuels.

There's also no word yet on what may have started the fire, but arson investigators were called in to investigate.

Family members say Samuels moved into the garage apartment after his home burned down a few years ago.
