Bank Robbery Suspects Arrested Minutes After Hold Up

Updated: Tue 8:33 AM, Sep 18, 2007

The busy Monday afternoon for southern Kentucky police in two cities started at the Williamsburg Cumberland Valley National Bank. Two men, both with guns drawn, entered the bank and police say they ordered everyone on the floor. They went behind the counter and stuffed a bag full of cash. But moments after leaving the bank, and getting into their getaway car, police say a dye pack exploded staining the money and the robbers' clothes. Witnesses saw them leaving in a white Toyota.

And then less than 20 minutes later, police in Corbin spotted a white Toyota outside an abandoned gas station. Inside, officers say they found the suspects and the red stained money. Three people were arrested and the money was recovered.

Police arrested Justin Coffey and John Worley, said to be in their early 20s and a third man, Tony Brooks.
