Police Charge Driver For Deadly Hit And Run Accident

Police file charges in a hit and run accident that left a man dead over the weekend.

Police located 35-year-old Kareem Covington of Lexington on Monday, charging him with leaving the scene of an accident.

Police say Covington hit and killed Marcus Miles as he walked along the New Circle Road overpass on Georgetown Road on Saturday night. He was walking alongside his girlfriend, who was riding on a motorized scooter. Police say Covington left the scene of the accident without giving any help to the victim.

Covington is scheduled to appear in court on October 22nd at 1:00.
