Commonwealth Stadium Celebration Leaves Two Fans Hurt

Updated: Tue 10:28 AM, Sep 18, 2007

The excitement after UK's win over Louisville this weekend quickly turned dangerous for some fans at Commonwealth Stadium.

Thousands of people rushed the field in celebration after the game,
but we've since learned that two fans injured in the process.

One of them is ninth grade student Connor Leach. He's the son of Tom Leach, the "Voice of the Wildcats."

Connor says he was hurled over the stadium railing as fans rushed the field, causing him to land head first.

His arm was broken in two places. He'll have to wear a cast for the next 6 weeks to 2 months.

UK Police also report another fan suffered injuries.

The university will have to pay the Southeastern Conference a $25,000 fine, because fans rushed the field.
