Apple releases iPhone 4 software update

Apple has released an update to iOS 4 that is designed to improve the signal strength display on the company's iPhone.

According to Apple this update changes the formula used to calculate signal strength and will display signal bars more accurately.

The update will also change the height of the signal bars slightly.

Apple initially stated that the signal loss some users were experiencing was not due to a design flaw in the phone itself but rather a software bug.

To install the software update connect your iPhone to iTunes and click check for software updates.

Apple has also scheduled a press conference Friday saying only that they would be discussing the iPhone.
