Burnside Residents To Receive Tax Break

People in one Lake Cumberland community are about to get a tax break, thanks mostly to restaurants now able to sell alcohol.

The Burnside City Council voted recently to cut their property tax rates.

Burnside's mayor says the city now collects $240,000 in restaurant taxes.

The mayor says the council decided it was time to give money back to its community.

The council may also decide to issue rebate checks to its residents, but the mayor says that idea has not been property researched yet.
