Pop-up showers and storms made for a very busy morning for Lexington's emergency departments.
The fire department was called to investigate a couple of structure fires caused by lightning. At least one home, on Taylor Drive, had no damaged. The other reported strike was at a home in the Meadowthorpe neighborhood.
The rain also made it difficult for drivers trying to get around town. One man says it had just started raining on I-64 when he suddenly lost control of his car and it started spinning. "It was as slick as glass", says Michael Taulbee, "not a good feeling to have no control like that. Cars were everywhere so it's really good I didn't hit anyone else or injure myself."
Thankfully, there were no injuries reported anywhere around the city.
