Police search for car theft suspect

Lexington Police had dogs on the ground and a helicopter in the air as they searched Tuesday morning for a suspected car thief who took off when police tried to arrest him.

Crews called off parts of the search around noon. They began looking for Colin Hurt Tuesday morning when he took off when officers attempted to serve him with a warrant at a home on Brown Street. Tuesday morning's search centered around Brown Street and New Circle Road, near Winchester Road.

Police were trying to serve a warrant to Hurt a July 20, 2010 auto theft.
