Happy homecoming for dozens of soldiers

Happy homecoming for dozens of soldiers

It was a great morning for the men and women of the 125th Transportation Company based in Lexington. They returned home after a one year deployment in Iraq.

Buses transporting the troops pulled in around 11:30am at the Army Reserve Center on Leestown Road. About 100 family members and friends were anxiously waiting to give that first big hug to their favorite soldier. Many of the troops were eager to see their children.

One couple we met actually met on their first deployment and went back the second time as husband and wife. They told us what it was like to be deployed together. "It's easier in that you don't worry about the same things other couples worry about during a deployment but it's harder because you can't have your time apart" said Sgt. Jenna Reese.

Some of the troops said that in addition to being happy about seeing their families, they were happy to once again see how green it is in Kentucky, even if they'll need to re-adapt to the humidity.
