Lexington’s City Pools Announce End-of-Season Closing Schedules

Lexington’s city pools will begin closing for the year this weekend. Berry Hill, Constitution, Picadome and Shillito pools will close for the season Sunday, Aug. 1. All four aquatic centers – Castlewood, Southland, Tates Creek and Woodland – will stay open until Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Tates Creek and Woodland Aquatic centers will remain open through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.

From August 1 – 9, the aquatic centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, Castlewood, Tates Creek and Woodland will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Southland Aquatic Center will open at 1 p.m. on Sundays.

Lexington Parks & Recreation will say “goodbye” to the summer with its Back to School Blast on Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Southland Aquatic Center. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., this pool party will include games, door prizes, giveaway, exhibits and more. All activities are free with paid pool admission. Free admission will be granted to those individuals who bring school supplies which will be distributed to needy students in Lexington–Fayette County.

Please note: All aquatic facilities will close early (5 p.m.) on Aug. 10.

From Aug. 11 through Sept. 6, Woodland and Tates Creek will be open from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. on Sunday. These facilities will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Labor Day.
