Mother honored for work on behalf of domestic violence victims

The mother of a murdered Lexington woman received a special honor Thursday night.

The Kentucky Domestic Violence Association gave an award to Diana Ross for her work on behalf of victims.

Her daughter, Amanda Ross, was shot to death last year.

She had an emergency protective order against her accused killer, ex-fiance Steve Nunn.

More than a hundred people attended the fundraiser held in memory of Amanda Ross at the Merrick Inn.

Proceeds from "The Little Black Dress Event" went to the Bluegrass Domestic Violence Program.
