Teen battling brain cancer competes in horse show

A Canadian team is among many competing at the Kentucky Horse Park this weekend. And while they are taking home gold, team members are celebrating the 2 major successes of a 19-year-old competitor, her 2nd place ribbon and recent surgery for brain cancer.

Kaylynn Malmberg travelled for hours to come to the competition at the Kentucky Horse Park, but the medals and accolades the accomplished rider has gotten aren't what make her remarkable, it's her attitude and determination.

The Alberta team member has been battling brain cancer for more than a year and will have to have another surgery soon. She says riding her horse, Picker is what will always get her through.

The Malmbergs say they are hopeful that the next surgery will get rid of the cancer for good.
