LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The rally continues at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, as gross receipts rose nearly 80 percent compared to the same session last year.
There were 243 horses sold yesterday for more than two-and-a-half million dollars. The same session brought less than one-and-a-half million dollars in 2006.
A half-sister to multiple Grade One stakes-winning filly "Dream Rush" brought the top price of $122 thousand. The filly, by "Salt Lake" out of "Turbo Dream," was purchased by Halvorson Bloodstock.
Overall gross receipts are down about four percent from a year ago. The sale concludes today.
