A man is dead after police say his car hit a truck, causing the truck to roll over and catch fire.
The crash happened around 5 Monday morning on Highway 15 in Knott County, near the Perry County line.
Kentucky State Police say a Pontiac, driven by 48-year-old Terry L. Lucas of the Pistol City community of Letcher County, crossed the center line, and hit a Ford truck head-on.
The impact caused the Ford truck to roll over and catch fire.
Police say Lucas died at the scene. The driver of the truck, Brandon Howard of the Chavies community of Perry County, was removed from vehicle by a passing driver.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
