A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
A sagging front approaches us today from the north, which will leave us with some rain for the end of the work week. This front doesn't have much push with it, nor strength. That means we will see mainly showers with a few rumbles of thunder. Also, the rain doesn't move through very fast, so expect on & off rain today especially for the central and northern zones. Heading into the evening is when we will see the front slide into the southern areas.
Let's talk about this warm weekend we have in store. On April 1st and 2nd we felt our warmest weekend so far this year with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. This weekend looks to be even warmer than that! Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 70s with highs on Sunday in the low 80s! The only chance of rain we have for the weekend will be on Saturday at 20%-30%. So as you can see only a stray shower or two expected.
