GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT)-Police say a student at Scott County High was jumped as he walked a popular path to school by two others. One boy is also a student, the other is not. Investigators say all three are under 18 years old.

Police say the beating was so bad, the victim ended up in the emergency room at UK Hospital with potentially broken ribs and other serious injuries.

"The last report is that the victim is going to be ok," Captain Robert Swanigan of the Georgetown Police Department explained. "Now we've got two susects charged in juvenile court."

Officers say quite a crowd drew to watch the beating. They say as they continue to investigate, they're still trying to figure out the motive.

"Sounds like there was an incident yestersay. That was the catalyst that got things started and it carried over to today. It is still very early in our investigation. If anyone has any information, we'd love to hear from them."

Police say the two juveniles are charged with both felony and misdemeanor assault.
