PULASKI County, Ky. (WKYT) - A Southern Kentucky father spent a short time in jail on charges he caused a crash that injured both himself and his 12 year old daughter.
WKYT's Phil Pendleton learned that Jimmy Jasper is out of jail on assault charges. He was indicted last week because police say his blood alcohol level was more than the legal limit when he crashed the SUV he and his daughter Jaden were in on March 5th.
Jasper will answer to those assault charges on April 25th after his $50,000 cash bond was posted for him over the weekend. Police arrested the 56 year old Jasper Friday afternoon and relatives say bond was posted for him Saturday.
The arrest came just a day after his daughter Jaden was released from Cardinal Hill and is now resting at home. There's been a lot of money raised through T-shirt sales, benefits and other functions but relatives tell WKYT that none of that money is being used to pay for Jasper's legal fees.
We are told that Jaden will start therapy tomorrow and she will be home schooled two days a week. She still has a long road to recovery, and we're told she has vision problems and requires naps or resting every hour to hour and a half.
Another benefit for Jaden's medical recovery is set for ths Saturday in Somerset.
