A band of heavy rain continues to sink southward into the region. We will have to keep a close eye on this later this evening into tonight. The rest of the forecast remains unchanged with a major winter storm moving in late Wednesday and Thursday.
A cold front continues to push to the south of the bluegrass state tonight. This front is allowing cooler and drier air to filter southward into the region. This means gorgeous weather for the kickoff of the high school football season.
Temps tonight will hit the upper 50s and low 60s and recover into the low 80s for Saturday. Sunny skies will be with us through Sunday as temps bounce up a few degrees.
Hot air will make a run at us next week as a heat wave bakes the plains states. We will be on the cusp of the hot weather with temps in the upper 80s to around 90. Watch for thunderstorms diving in here from the northwest.
