A harsh winter pattern taking shape

A harsh winter pattern appears to be setting up as we head into the start of the new year. Old Man Winter looks to throw several arctic blast our way and each of these may be preceded by snow systems.

The weather as we close out the year will feature cold conditions with a few flurries. I am not expecting any weather issues for party goers on New Year's Eve.

A storm system rolls our way by Thursday and will bring snow to much of the region. Some accumulation is a good bet. Arctic air surges in behind this with single digit lows possible by Friday.

Another arctic blast arrives late this weekend and may have a winter storm ahead of it. The air for early next week may be colder than we have seen in years across Kentucky.
