A rainy start to the work week...

Posted: Mon 7:18 AM, Mar 11, 2013

We continue with our mild weather pattern, but add showers too it and I promise we will be nowhere near what we saw this weekend. Highs today will vary from lower 50s-lower 60s due to widespread rain across the region. Showers look to move slowly across the area today, which will allow possible flooding to occur throughout the afternoon in many low lying areas and streams. Most of us will see anywhere from .25"-1.00" of rain with a few areas exceeded the 1.00" mark. The rain appears to move out during the afternoon for the west and night for the east. Gusty winds will accompany these showers as they swing through with a few gusts in the 35-40 mph range.

Cooler air filters in tomorrow with highs in the 40s and an overall dry day in store. A reinforcing cold front makes its way during the night of Tuesday into Wednesday which will allow colder air to filter in with highs in the 30s and possible flakes during Wednesday. This will not be a huge snow event. Nevertheless, with the setup we have it appears east of I-75 will have the best shot at seeing a coating on the ground. It still appears unlikely, but the chance is there.
