The calm before the storm

Enjoy the first part of your Sunday. It actually looks really nice with highs climbing into the low 80s in many areas. Once we get into the evening and nighttime hours we start tracking showers and storms.

The storms that settle in tonight will originate from some storms that will likely be on the strong side in Western Kentucky. Some of those could hold on to the stronger characteristics as they sweep through the area.

The severe weather potential will really increase Monday and Tuesday. Rounds of thunderstorms will roll across the state and the air looks primed for some nasty weather. Damaging winds large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible during this time. While it won't rain all day on either day... waves of thunderstorms will be coming at us all through Monday and Tuesday.

Another factor to consider will be the heavy rain threat thrown into the mix. On average we could see 1"-3" with higher amounts certainly possible inside some of the stronger storms.
