Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
Showers and storms occupied the skies for most of Sunday. Those chances will spill over into next week as well. A perfect set-up for showers and storms will begin to take shape over the next several days.
Two different waves will impact the area Monday and Tuesday. A typical area of low pressure will roll completely across Kentucky on Monday. That will be followed up by another low that will pass north of our area. So we'll be on the southern flank of those storms.
A big ridge of hot temperatures will build in west of Kentucky. This will mean very hot temps likely west of here. Since we'll be right in the middle of the humid air and stormy pattern, we should keep away from a solid shield of heat. Showers and storms will follow that path and keep cranking up this week.
There is a lot of heavy rain potential and some stronger storms could try to develop later this week.
As always... we'll be tracking all of it!
