The weekend is here and it sure took a long time to get here. This past week featured sub-zero temperatures and spiked in the mid 50s for Friday.
The weekend will bring rain back to the area. We'll likely see some showers during the overnight hours tonight. The bulk of it falls on Saturday with only a few showers possible late tonight. Rain will be around the area through the day and finally comes to an end by the afternoon and evening hours.
The system bringing this rain has a cold front associated with it and will tap some colder air for Sunday. It's not a huge change but certainly a noticeable change in the air. There could even be a flake or two in eastern Kentucky at the tail end of this.
The new week will bring new energy and an active pattern. Several snow chances will roll in for next week.
