A wild weather ride ahead

Updated: Tue 4:45 PM, Dec 18, 2012

Skies are clearing across the bluegrass state as we head into the overnight. Temps will drop toward the freezing mark by morning. Our Wednesday weather looks awesome with highs back into the 50s under mainly sunny skies.

A powerful cold front will move through on Thursday and this means a dramatic change in our weather. Showers and thunderstorms and 50s will start the day. Temps drop into the 30s with snow showers will be noted by evening.

Those snow showers will last into early Friday and a light accumulation is likely for many. Temps Friday will struggle to get out of the 20s. Winds will also be a major player with this next storm. Gusts may top 50mph at times.
