Scattered storms will develop into the afternoon hours and a few could be strong or severe. High winds and hail will be the main impacts.
A major winter storm will work from the deep south and into the Mid Atlantic states on Wednesday. This will be a shutdown storm for many to our south and east. Can this storm graze Kentucky with snow? It's certainly a possibility.
The greatest threat for snow will be across southeastern parts of the state. Areas in this region could pick up several inches of snow... especially near the Virginia border. We will have to keep a close eye on this to see how far west this system can come.
Any deviation in the path of the storm can make for a huge difference in where the snow sets up. If the storm comes farther west, it would mean a greater shot of snow. If it tracks a bit east, it would take most of the snow east of Kentucky.
