LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Some central Kentucky residents will notice a faster connection on their wireless network, thanks to a new service from AT&T.

The cell phone giant announced Thursday it's switching on 4G LTE, the latest generation of wireless technology. AT&T says the new technology will allow users to experience faster speeds, response times, along with a more efficient use of spectrum, which would create more space to carry data traffic and deliver a better overall experience.

The move also opens up a window for AT&T to release new devices compatible with 4G LTE service, including the Samsung Galaxy S III, Nokia Lumia 900, and other smart phone and tablet devices.
