Updated: Thu 12:51 PM, Jan 17, 2013

Clark County, Ky (WKYT) - A 77-year-old man is dead after investigators say his pick-up truck was t-boned by a semi in Clark County.

Around 11pm Tuesday night, investigators say James Patrick was about two and a half miles from the bypass on Boonsboro Road, when he pulled into the path of a semi. The semi, who says Patrick just kept driving, hit the passengers side of Patrick's truck, pushing his pickup for several yards.

Patrick's family says they had been looking for him for more than an hour when the accident occurred. Family members believe Patrick may have been heading home when he left the East Washington Street home, driving six miles before the accident. His son claims his father may have suffered from dementia and gotten confused.

Investigators say Patrick died on the scene. According to family members, funeral arrangements are still being made.
