ERLANGER, Ky. (AP) - A northern Kentucky group that supports recovering drug addicts has restarted after dissolving a few years ago, and its members are headed to Frankfort to start lobbying.
The group is the northern Kentucky chapter of People Advocating Recovery. PAR is a statewide group that works to eliminate the barriers to recovery from addition.
The Kentucky Enquirer reports members of the restarted chapter are planning to urge lawmakers to support various initiatives ranging from the voting rights of felons to making readily available a drug that can resuscitate an overdose victim.
The northern Kentucky region has recently seen an increase in heroin use and addiction.
