Anderson Co. deputy injured in head-on crash

Lawrenceburg, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say a woman crashed into a sheriff's deputy's cruiser on Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 9:15 on Sunday morning. According to Kentucky State Police, A 2003 Silver Toyota Corolla was traveling east on KY-44, approximately six miles west of Lawrenceburg, when the driver lost control on the icy roadway. The driver, Amy Swisher of Lawrenceburg, crossed into the oncoming lane, striking an Anderson County Sheriff's Department head on.

Deputy Anthony Likins was transported to UK Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Two juvenile passengers in the Toyota Corolla were transported to Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. They were treated and released. The driver was not injured.

According to State Police, the juvenile passengers in the Corolla were not in appropriate child restraint devices.

Weather conditions are a factor in the collision.
