Andrew Wiggins will play at Kansas

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After months of speculation, Andrew Wiggins, the nation’s top basketball recruit, announced on Tuesday that he would play at Kansas. Wiggins chose Kansas over Kentucky, North Carolina and Florida State.

Wiggins, a 6-foot-8 forward, is rated one of the best high school prospects since LeBron James. He made the announcement with little fanfare at St. Joseph Central Catholic High School in Huntington, WVa. shortly after noon.

Wiggins was born in Toronto, Ontario and was once considered the top prospect in the Class of 2014, but he reclassified and is a senior. He was named the 2013 Naismith Prep Player of the Year and the Gatorade National Player of the Year after averaging 23.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 2.5 assists per game last season, leading Huntington Prep to a 30-3 overall record.
