LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - You'll soon have a tougher time finding a place to park in downtown Lexington.

The annex garage will soon be closed temporarily for renovations.

It's one of the four structures the city handed over to LEXPARK.

After some assessments, LEXPARK decided to renovate the nearly 50-year-old parking garage.

There's already a fee for everyone parking in the structure to help pay for the more than three-million-dollar project.

"The ultimate goal is to make it safer, easy to find, and well lit with no concrete falling. Those are the things we want to make sure we accomplish with this project, so bare with us," said Gary Means, the executive director with LEXPARK.

We're told the annex garage will be shut down for five months starting on Election Day.
