LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - At West Sixth Brewing, the beer is the art, but lately the brewery is getting a bit of a makeover.
"Suddenly about a month ago these random metal sculptures have been placed overnight. Nobody knows where they're coming from or why they're here," described Sarah Landolt, who works at the brewery.
The staff, there, said it started with a scrap metal sculpture of a person pointing, later a second little gift was left by the anonymous artist. The latest piece of work now sits out front keeping watch over the front door.
"We have no idea, there's no clue, the owners know nothing," said Landolt, "We assume that it might be something connected with the art studios here, but we haven't heard a word. So, it's just a nice eclectic addition."
Although no one knows where the artwork is coming from, it appears no one seems to mind.
"I think it's great! It adds to Lexington, it adds to the fun of it, it adds to the culture," expressed Chris King as she made her way into the brewery.
While some works of art are intentional, these seem to be different.
"I mean I think it's a lovely surprise and I think it only adds to the ambience," answered Landolt.
"It's very interesting. I like it, I think they should continue," added King.
So who is behind the work? Eh, no one can point a finger at it but these works of art aren't a bad touch, and it doesn't look like the brewery will do anything to stop it.
