LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Tonight we have an alert for businesses in a Lexington neighborhood. Thieves could be targeting your cars.
Last night on WKYT at 11 we told you about a series of catalytic converter thefts at two businesses on West High Street.
There thieves stole more than a dozen catalytic converters and car batteries, from numerous vehicles at Motorsports Repair Shop, and the neighboring Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
Now we've learned thieves have also hit a third business nearby. An employee of Henkel Denmark, a Landscaping company off Manchester Street, discovered someone had cut a hole in the fence. Police say a truck, trailer, landscaping equipment, and more car batteries were stolen.
Officer's were able to use the stolen truck's GPS to track the vehicle, but when they located it, nobody was nearby.
Because of the proximity of the buisnesses and the items stolen, Investigators with Lexington Police are looking into the possibility the crimes are connected.
Right now they are processing the scenes and the truck that was stolen, looking for evidence. No arrests have been made.
