The heat and humidity of summer will slowly get worse. In many cases our highs for Sunday will range in the mid and upper 80s. That means any of you could see a decent run at the upper 80s today. Now once we enter the peak heating of the day, the afternoon and evening, we could fire off a few more showers and thunderstorms. Just like so many other days this past week, not everyone will get wet!
A warm front will cross Kentucky on Sunday night and into Monday. This will bring a whole lot of hot air into the Bluegrass. We won't just be talking about 80s anymore, but a solid run at 90! Most of us will see highs around 90 degrees on Monday. When you factor in that old humidity... 90-95 is what it will feel like.
That warm front is also attached to a cold front. The cold front will swing in on Tuesday and enhance our chances for showers and storms. This time of year it is so nice to have a front completely clear Kentucky. This will not happen when this front arrives on Tuesday. We'll likely see it stall out right over the Ohio River. Anything south of that front will stay hot and humid. It also means that those areas (exactly where we are) will see better chances of showers and storms.
It'll truly be another summer like week. Highs dancing between the mid 80s to around 90 nearly each day. Of course, a daily threat of showers and storms will also be in our area.
Have a great first FULL day of Summer.
