Another big Supreme Court term starts today

WASHINGTON (AP) - Given the prospect of major rulings about affirmative action, gay marriage and voting rights, the indication is that the new Supreme Court term that starts today will be just as important as the last one, which decided health care reform and other matters.

A fight over the University of Texas' affirmative action program is the first blockbuster case on the court's calendar, with argument this month.
