General showers will be the main action over the next few hours. A few could remain on the strong to severe side in eastern parts of Kentucky.
Bitterly cold air continues to push into the bluegrass state and will stick around for a few more days. This will send thermometers close to zero overnight for many areas. Throw in a gusty winds and the wind chill numbers could drop to -10 at times. That puts us in the danger category.
A few clouds will stream across the region tonight and that will work in our favor. It acts as a blanket to keep temps from dropping even lower. Those clouds may even produce some flakes in the far southeast on Tuesday.
Highs Tuesday will be in the upper single digits to low teens for many areas.
We will finally warm toward freezing by the end of the week, but it comes with a price. We're heading into a pattern that can bring a bit of a mess our way for the weekend.
