LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky filmmaker will see a dream realized when his film, "Hitting the Cycle," makes its area premiere Thursday through Sunday at the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington.
J. Richey Nash, who is the son of 1960s Kentucky basketball star Charles "Cotton" Nash, wrote, co-directed and stars in the film, which is about a former Major League Baseball player at the end of his career. It was filmed in Lexington and other locations in central Kentucky and has been on the festival circuit this year.
Nash, a 1986 graduate of Henry Clay High School, told the Lexington Herald-Leader that when production first began on the film, he thought how nice it would be to have it play at the Kentucky Theatre. And now, he says, that is going to happen.
