Arrest in Lexington kidnapping, assault case

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police say they have arrested kidnapping suspect Parico D. Coffey. Coffey was taken into custody Thursday by U.S. Marshals in Inkster, Michigan.

Police say on December 17th, Coffey kidnapped a woman at gunpoint outside a gas station on Versailles Rd and Alexandria Drive. Police say Coffey forced her to drive to an unknown location where he assaulted her.

The woman later managed to escape and ran to a home on Bordeaux Drive for help.

Coffey is charged with rape, kidnapping, sodomy and robbery.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office will arrange for Coffey to be brought to Lexington.
