LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - An arrest has been made in the only unsolved Lexington murder in 2012.
Lexington Police arrested 31-year-old Lazarus R. Parker on Wednesday at police headquarters. He is charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Police say Parker shot and killed 31-year old Brian Lee Hodge back on August 12, 2012. Police found Hodge around two that morning, in the area of Seventh Street and Dakota Street. Hodge was transported to UK Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hodge worked at Indi's Fast Food, down the block from where police say he was murdered.
"He came in wanting to get off the streets. He said he was tired of hanging out on the streets. We gave him a chance here," said Aarom Chase, Hodge's former manager.
Of the 14 murders Lexington Police investigated in 2012, Hodge's murder was the only case where an arrest was not made.
