Arrest made in violent store robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Police say they have arrested one of two men behind a violent store robbery.

In November, police say two men robbed the Shenanigan's Wine & Spirits on South Broadway. The clerk told police he recognized them from a previous robbery and tried to lock the two men inside the store until police arrived.

The men forced their way out the door and got into a car. That's when police say the men tried to run over the clerk as they fled. No one was injured.

Now police have arrested Frank Persley, 45, in connection with the theft.

Persley is charged with robbery, wanton endangerment and receiving stolen property.
