Arts Council assembling list of teaching artists

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Applications are being accepted for artists who want to work with schools through Kentucky Arts Council education programs to be included in the Teaching Artists Directory.

Schools applying for grant funds are required to employ artists from the directory, which is an adjudicated listing of artists qualified to work in educational settings.

Approved teaching artists may work through applications to the Teaching Art Together grant, and teaching artists in literary arts, storytelling and theater arts may work with schools in the Poetry Out Loud Program.

For guidelines and application information, visit http://artscouncil.ky.gov/Opportunities/TAD.htm . The deadline to apply is March 15.

Contact program branch manager Christopher Cathers for more information at (502) 564-3757, extension 488, or christopher.cathers(at)ky.gov.
