Scattered showers and storms continue to push across the region. Local high water issues remain possible through the evening.
Welcome to August! It's a month that includes a return to school, the beginning of Friday night football, and usually a lot of heat. That's not the case for us this year. This month starts off much cooler than normal. This has been the theme for most of our summer.
Friday will include an isolated chance of showers and storms for folks here in central Kentucky. A disturbance will be passing south and east of our area. As it does, the best rounds of rain will be passing by too. Many folks in eastern Kentucky stand a better chance of seeing the wet weather.
As we work into the first weekend of August, most of us will see a few showers and storms. This trend continues through the entire weekend. It doesn't look like any of these will be a washout. As a matter of fact, the weekend as a whole doesn't look that way either. It's just one of those situations where we could see numerous showers and storms across Kentucky.
The trend of cooler temps will follow us into next week. That won't last long at all. We'll go from several degrees below average to right around or just above average. Still no sign of the true Dog Days of Summer. Throw in a few rain chances and you have, basically, the same forecast we have had all Summer.
