Autopsy: Inmate died after beating in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) -- We're learning more about the death of an inmate at the Kentucky River Regional jail in Perry County.

The Perry County coroner says a preliminary autopsy shows Larry Trent died from blunt impact to his head and body and the injuries occured during a beating.

Trent died earlier this month after police say he got into an altercation with two members of the jail's staff.

A state police detective in charge of the investigation has been subpoened to testify Friday before the Perry County grand jury.
