BENTON, Ky. (AP) - Officials hope an autopsy will reveal the identity of a body found floating in Kentucky Lake.
Marshall County Coroner Mitchell Lee says he was unable to positively identify the man found Sunday morning by a fisherman. The body has been taken to the Regional Medical Examiner's office in Madisonville for an autopsy Monday.
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources spokesman Sgt. Gary Clark told The Paducah Sun Marshall County emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at about 7 a.m. from a fisherman who reported finding the body floating outside Duncan Bay on Kentucky Lake.
Lee said there was no reason to believe foul play was involved.
Marshall County Rescue Squad Chief and deputy coroner Carl Curtner said the man was wearing typical fishing attire.
