LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - A mother in London, Kentucky is sharing in the royal couple's joy in London, England.

The baby's parents are thrilled their daughter will share a birthday with the third in line to the British throne.

Across the pond, there's a garden fit for a king, and a tradition through the ages that is set in stone. While the royal baby is born at a London hospital, one is born within hours, at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Ky. And to Sarah and Justin Carnes, their Macy Elizabeth is royalty.

"She's a princess," says new daddy, Justin.

Macy Elizabeth was born Monday afternoon at 1:18. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and is 20 inches long. Her parents were happy to finally meet their baby girl.

Her birth was made even sweeter that she was born the same day, within hours of the royal baby everyone has had their eyes on.

"We were actually here last night when they announced she was in labor, and that was exciting," said her mother, Sarah.

Her family says it might be a prince this little one is dreaming of, since a boy has been added to the royal family.

"Share the same birthday as the prince. Can't get much better than that!" said Sarah.

During her visit, she's already had a carriage ride. With her family present, Macy Elizabeth Carnes is being crowned princess.

"She might not be the royal baby, but she's still our princess!" said Macy Elizabeth's grandmother.

The Carnes family hopes to take the princess home within the next two days.
