NEWPORT, Ky. (AP) - Police in Newport say an infant drowned in a bathtub after it slipped off its sleeping mother's chest and slid into the water.
According to The Kentucky Enquirer, the investigation is still underway in the death of Liam McKenzie, who was five months old.
Newport Police Chief Tom Collins said the child was found unresponsive Wednesday by a family friend, who was at the home. The child was pronounced dead at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
Results of the investigation will be given to the commonwealth's attorney to determine whether charges will be sought.
